Short description of advertisement:
A Finnish company is searching for biofuel and mass production of micro algae (cultivation, production, harvesting & extraction) from Asia Pacific region

A Finnish oil refining company is searching partners for biofuel and mass production of micro algae (cultivation, production, harvesting and extraction). The main target area is Asia Pacific and the preferable cooperation models are commercial agreement with technical assistance, financial agreement and technical cooperation agreement. This technology request refers to an open technology search, which closes on December 6th and expression of interests will be guided towards this open platform.

A Finnish company creates sustainable solutions for transport, business, and consumer needs. Their wide range of renewable products enable their customers to reduce climate emissions. The company is a big producer of renewable diesel refined from waste and residues, introducing renewable solutions also to the aviation and plastics industries. The company is also a technologically advanced refiner of high-quality oil products. They want to be a reliable partner with widely valued expertise, research, and sustainable operations.

The company creates new business streams such as sustainable and scalable aviation fuels. They build partnerships with key stakeholders such as technology and raw material companies and other relevant organizations, the goal being to develop profitable value chains and ecosystems where the company can perform a variety of roles. Some of the first of these select initiatives in focus are Algae and MSW (Municipal Solid Waste).

The company has a long history in the evaluation of algae cultivation and processing technologies, including lab and outdoor research, and testing of hundreds of algae oil and biomass samples. Algae provides a sustainable feedstock potential to the fast-increasing aviation fuel market. That requires technology development in cultivation, but also the maximization of the value of the proteins and other compounds of the algae biomass. The company invites the algae industry to collaborate with them to find the best consortia and partners to go forward again. The company is now looking for partners to join this journey. They are open to identify and develop a wide range of technologies for new, sustainable feedstock.

The Finnish company is searching for expertise in micro algae mass production, cultivation, harvesting and/or extraction. The special interested is in algae cultivation in bonds and algae grown with light (instead of fermented).

Besides biofuels also food, feed and health are interesting use cases. Anyhow, this search is not focused on bio-refineries.

The most desired partners have already products in the markets or track record in micro algae mass production. Previous experience on biofuels is not needed as the Finnish company has this expertise in-house. The preferable cooperation models are commercial agreement with technical assistance, financial agreement and technical cooperation agreement, but the company is open for discussing in multiple different partnership models to speed up time-to-market for algae-based biofuels. Geographically the main target area is Asia Pacific, but proposals from other regions can be considered case by case.

This technology request refers to an open technology search published on an internet platform. The public search closes on December 6th and expression of interests will be guided towards this open platform.
